Therapy with Will

Wherever you are beginning, I hope to meet you there.

I believe therapy is most effective when we begin from a place of curiosity, compassion, courage, and care. My education and training is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and rooted in a person-centered, integrative approach to healing. I view myself as a collaborator and partner alongside my clients, and seek to offer a space where exploration, healing are possible. The work we do in therapy is often challenging and sometimes painful, and I offer a safe, supportive environment to heal and change.

I work with adults and adolescents, people in all stages of addiction recovery (12 step and harm reduction), LGBTQ+ folks, and creatives. My speciality areas include: depression, anxiety, dissociation, PTSD and complex trauma, substance abuse, identity exploration, relationship dynamics, and family of origin healing.

I am influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS); feminist, queer and postmodern theories; attachment theory; psychodynamic theory; polyvagal theory (PVT); and mindfulness. During a session, I may draw in various tools and perspectives from each of these modalities. In addition, my training as an Art Therapist means we can integrate various other forms of creative work.

I earned a Dual Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling & Art Therapy from Southwestern College & New Earth Institute. My initial training and experience has been working with individuals and groups in the Los Angeles area seeking treatment and recovery for substance and alcohol abuse. Through this work, I have a range of experience working with people of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities and trauma histories. Although my areas of focus has been within the LGBTQIA+ and queer communities, I enjoy working with people in all stages of healing, growth and change.
